orienteering race 39:00 [5]

Green course at Raemoir- wanted to test knee in terrain, but for too long, and this is Raemoir!
Knee generally OK, some tightness when trying to lift over brashings, fallen trees, out of tractor wallows etc. Nice day but cold wind.

steady run 2:50:00 [3]

Leading group from Balmoral to foot of Meikle Pap on Lochnagar and back via track to east. Very pleasant pace - able to push to catch leaders when necessary. Mostly nice day but 20 mins exposed to bitter wind and in shadow of black clouds at top of col. Last 30 mins v slow with sloweat runner in group. Lovely run and good company. Knee fine, even on steep rocky track down from col. Whatever is causing the swelling isn't really affecting my running.

steady run 50:00 [3]

Guiding for Running the Highlands round Balmoral Estate. Usual Friday afternoon loop, pleasant conditions and can almost see the summit of Lochnagar - hope tomorrow is clearer to give the guests a chance to see it as we run closer to it.
Left knee very puffy - mostly below and on outside of kneecap. Not painful running, so just hope its no worse tomorrow for the 16 miler.

cycling 30:00 [2]

to/from Kinker with Ewan and class mate on return.
Left knee stiff and feels a bit puffy - hopefully just too much time on legs and work through knees yesterday and nothing serious.

Note

Surveying 2.5 hours

cycling 43:00 [2]

Out and back at start of control hanging loop

steady run 3:47:00 [3]

Long loop hanging controls for Gramp Mountain marathon.
Completely shagged at end - nothing sore, just very tired. Several long climbs - esp 400m one at 2.5 hours.... Mostly pretty good running with not much deep heather or really steep slopes. Wore old trail shoes - slipped a couple of times on heather shoots, but OK in terrain, feet sore on last 5km track run back to bike - shoes getting a bit crushed under forefeet.
