orienteering race 1:07:00 [5]

Cambus O'May event. Brown course 8.3km. Not feeling great before start - late might a too many beers! Didn't really warm-up properly, but got first few controls OK, then bad miss at 6 - sloppy (didn't check compass) and faffed around on slope looking for are-entrant. Lost ca 2.5 mins. After thisd a couple of wobbles and a route choice that I knew wasn't optimal, but was more in terrain. 3 mins clear of Josh and 15 ahead of 3rd place.
Cambus at its best - bracken/grass dead, cold crisp day - perfect for running.

Intervals hills 13:00 [5]

Hills on track up from Burn O'Vat car park - 8 on first hill then 3 mins jog and 5 on second part of hill. Expected second part to be more, but I don't think Sarah and I miscounted ;-)
Feeling pretty rough - arms and backside still aching from Wednesday evening. Felt 3rd in each set was best, then tailed off.

Run out to Burn O'Vat car park, from Dinnet and back over Muir. Wobbling by end - good session and about all I could handle today. Great day - cold but crisp (still frosty in places) and patches of cloud.

Note

rest day - fairly tired from yesterday and ran out of time. Buttock muscles very tender - I hope it was the burpees, star jumps and sprints from indoor session.

Railway line intervals west of Aboyne, 8x2+1 Going fairly well but struggling by last 2. Perfect timing as rain started just as I finished and it has pissed it down since!

Shortish warm-up (didn't want too long a session).

Circuits 45:00 [2]

Maroc Indoor session at Banchory. Struggling with circuits - legs shafted from intervals and core not feeling too great either! Particularly cruel to have a circuit type exercise between laps 2 & 3 of normal circuits....

Home from Aboyne after leaving car for service and back to Aboyne in afternoon. Hill up from Dess Burn is monstrous!
