orienteering race 1:11:00 [5]

O race at Darnaway, Brown course 9.4km, 71.01 (2nd Martin D 71-38 - phew!). Mostly clean but some wobbles and hesitations - ca 2-3 mins. Pushed hard at end and pleased with 2 fastest splits and very close to best on rest. 11 hours sleep previous night helped recovery!

orienteering 40:00 [4]

Hanging one exercise and shadowing Jo Shepherd on 2 at Roseisle. Feeling OK on flat but legs struggling on up hills.

steady run 1:20:00 [4]

Dinnet across Moor to celtic stone, up easy path by Vat Burn up to Cnoc Dubh, short cut through woods to track down to parking area and back on path to south of loch. Feeling terrible - shoulders, glutes, quads, hamstrings all aching and tired. Shuffling along behind Sarah. Otherwise run was very pleasant - mild, not much ice, great terrain. Ice on Loch Kinord still totally solid if a little wet on top. I guess ice skating would still be a good way to get around on it.

steady run warm up/down 15:00 [3]

treadmill - very boring but played with gradient and speed to make it more interesting.

Strength 45:00 [3]

Gym session (as prescribed by Ruth). Legs struggling on some esp leg curls. feeling stiff after in glutes and thighs, see how it is tomorrow! Need to get this going regularly once a week and also try to do a second session at home with what I can find there for weights etc.

orienteering race 48:00 [5]

Deeside Night Cup, Sluie. Good course - twists and pirouets on hill above Potties, then longer legs round bowl and short legs down hill at end. Feeling dreadful uphill - legs had no strength, falling over in bracken a lot. Not reading map or using compass enough. Got away with it - just about! No major errors, but messed up bonus leg (as usual) and a few wobbles. Need some serious recovery to get back into decent form to be able to do some hard sessions again.

Intervals 20:00 [5]

Glen Tanar (on own) 10x2+1. Fresh snow on old crust and ice so slightly slippery, but not too badly so. Pushed hard from start despite slightly achey, tired legs from weekend. First 3 were good then had a poor 4th, from then on I was hanging on but kept pushing pretty hard.

steady run warm up/down 36:00 [3]

Warm up from Braeloine to noraml interval start by bridge, then 2 bridges (extra beyond and back to first bridge). Lovely crisp day but a chilly breeze, bright at start but dull by end & a few flakes of snow. Really didn't want to do the session but went out and nailed it. Legs very tired in evening.

steady run warm up/down 12:00 [3]

Jog round Hill of Banchory - fresh snow. Legs feeling very stiff and achey.

Pilates 1:00:00 [1]

Good session given how I felt. Strong on side bends/plank combination and OK on shoulder bridge with ball. Even clams were not too bad.
