steady run 3:30:00 [4]

Mega run from Strathdon with Dave H, Gary and Helen. Never feeling great and tired after 1 hour...... Struggled up hills and going badly through rough peat bog areas. Only thing that kept me going was that the others were also suffering. Not quite sure how I reached the finish..... I guess I need a few more long runs (2 hours+) to do more than survive on a run like this!

Note

Course in Perth all day and planning junior training in evening so no time. Also needed day off to recover

Intervals hills 14:00 [5]

Hill session, up back track to Guard and right onto moorland. 6x2+2 hills and a last one after the stream crossing. Not enthusiastic at start, took till 4th interval to focus and concentrate during the whole 2 minutes! Very wobbly by end of session.

steady run 1:08:00 [3]

run from Tower of Ess, to Guard, onto moorland, above Osprey nest, down through woodland and back along Glen Tanar south track. Feeling a bit tired at start and very tired by end.

steady run 55:00 [3]

checking out a new area, near Banchory. Started in nice semi-open land, then got into a plantation mblock from hell - all spruce and overgrown rides, luckily I was on a large forest road and waltzed through it. No use for orienteering until it is thinned.... 5 - 10 years?

steady run 15:00 [3]

hanging a couple of emit controls for evening training - legs very achy and tired from intervals

Note

Surveying 3 hours - Crathes checking join of surveyed areas. Legs very tired and stiff. Almost bonked from lack of food by lunch time

Intervals 20:00 [5]

1,2,3,4 x2 1,1,2,2,1,1,2 recovery. Good session, going OK at start (unlike last Aboyne session) and well by end. Allan Sealy, Sam Burgess Peter and Donald Kerridge all ahead or close behind. felt I was moving well on most intervals and recovering better than most of the others, just need to find 5% improvement in speed!

steady run 55:00 [3]

warm up and warm down, long loop with Sam, Warren and Alan. Got the grey world wobbles just in last 400m, stuffed in a couple of sweets in the car and felt better by home.

Pilates 1:00:00 [1]

Pilates session, feeling good apart from arms (sawing before session and windy on way over, so ball was flapping about! Lots of arm exercises (I'm sure Emma is a closet sadist...) but managed OK. Really feeling the difference on some exercises - such as leg kick on side (no problems balancing now) and better at rainbow/chalk circles.

steady run warm up/down 20:00 [3]

run to/from pilates, windy on way out, but no ball on return (Genevieve offered a lift for it). Pushed return a wee bit to get back before car - managed it.

steady run 12:00 [3]

run round Sarah's time trial loop for the club training on Wednesday

steady run 7:00 [4]

pushing on 1 lap of time trial course - to get a decent base-line for others. Not going flat out, but blowing by the end.

stretching 15:00 [2]

same as ever
