Dess Wood loop - down past waterfall (looking full and impressive today), along bottom track, past Iain's shed, up to fields, out to lane, past new mansion and back via ruined wall pasture and hill top route. Legs feeling very good and bouncy, but left ankle, behind achiles at joint a bit sore - jarred it on Thursday.
Dinnet loop with extra near rangers house - with Sarah - feeling reasonably quick, but left leg giving twinges in several places, but heel OK with a bit of plaster over the hole.
easy O with Graeme Guy round parts of Shin Forest, similar to Scolty in places - but we could see where we were going! Top of right calf a bit tight - Oh no I can't get the M50 disease! Left heel blistered on side by heel cup of O shoes - need to hack it out.
Note
4 hours walking round Shin Forest checking map with Graeme Guy. Tired and mentally losing it by the end - all contour interpretation.
DNC Scolty - what a beaut. Fast runnable forest and great views over mid-Deeside...........NOT. A monster with felled areas that have grown up and are now impenetrable, lots of wind-blow and some good old steep slopes with bracken at the end... tough or what? Haven't been this close to jacking in on a DNC ever!
Mostly clean through controls and route choices looked OK from the map, but on the ground.... ohh dear!
8x2+1 railway line icy in places, but distances were good. Coming back got about +9 seconds on way out - not much difference for 8 minutes of hard running!
