Note

Had an unplanned rest day - Ewan wasn't feeling well and Sarah is away so no running. Not that I'm too worried - a rest will do me good after the last 2 hard weeks.

stretching 15:00 [2]

stretching - feeling supple after 2 days off running!

Note

Rest day - if a day stuck inside a room can be restful. Felt I needed it.

steady run 1:20:00 [3]

Run with Sarah round Coull - Aboyne Castle. Feeling tired after last few days, but stuck in some short hills near start and near end. Very wobbly at end.

Intervals hills 5:00 [5]

2 sets 5x30s, 30s recovery. Going balls out - aiming for fast leg speed. In bits at end of second set (near end of long run).

orienteering 1:30:00 [4]

Hanging controls and tapes for sessions in Sluie and Dess. Pissing rain and gloomy - hard to read map. Almost bonked by end - struggling to run and to read the map - ate loads when I got home!

orienteering race 49:00 [4]

Night-O Glen Dye. Great night - cold and dry, great course and good O-ing except for cc1&2 - shockingly incompetent on both, then got my act together. 25 secs down on Chepls... so near and yet so far!

steady run warm up/down 5:00 [3]

very short warm-up - should have done more and maybe I wouldn't have missed 1 & 2 so badly.....

Note

Surveying at Haughton Park - 2 hours in the cold - feet very cold by the end - glad it wasn't longer

stretching 15:00 [2]

stretching - left groin settling down.

Intervals intervals 20:00 [5]

5x4 mins 2 recovery. Along railway line, going well - feeling good. Lovely day - cold and sunny, gloves and hat for warm-up, but down to helly by end. Left groin a bit sensitive on first 2 but by end had eased off almost completely. Track mostly frosty with a few softer bits.

steady run 35:00 [3]

Warm up to intervals and longer route on way back - past Ian's shed, low track very wet (as always!) - after recent thaw.

Note

Surveying - 4 hours in cold Haughton & Murray Park.
