Down DW to east, riverbank and back up DW (west). He'd a dip in the river - just sitting, not deep enough for a swim, but up to back - very pleasant, may go for a proper swim later.
Legs felt pretty dead at start but perked up and actually felt quiet spritely coming up hill (diverted to waterfall and then diagonal up - gentler angle :-)

lovely sunny, hot day. Feeling fairly strong. Felt like head wind in places.

Lovely refreshing dip in Loch Kinord. Surface 20-25cm nice and warm, below a bit chilly :-)

Whiz home from Loch Kinord on A93, after feeling a bit wobbly at the start I felt good and powered home despite a head/side wind.

Nice ride out, pleasant day, warm and sun out for parts.

Intervals hills 8:00 [5]

First intervals since injury. Leg felt good yesterday on uphills so decided to try some hills. Did the Dess burn bridge to top of DW as 4 x 1min with 1 rec. Wondered about 3 sets but stuck at 2, just in case. Didn't seem to have any reaction, so maybe all well.
Met JW after first set so a good recovery due to a catch up!

Long-is warm up (25 mins) and then down DW to near farm for w/d. All seemed good after.

early start (for me) and lovely quiet roads and cool air in the sun. No stops and felt better during return - more comfortable, maybe body adjusting to the different bike?
Smell of hot pine forest in places - summer in Scandi...

Long ride and taken apart by the wean...
home - Pitmurchie Road - Tarland Road - Echo - Crathes bridge - Falls of Feugh - Banchory - A93 - home.
E took a longer route home via Scotly, I was busted and grovelled back along the main road.
Seat was fine with tighter bolt, bike set-up fine but got uncomfortable in general towards end - possibly working too hard for too long?

First ride on new bike, very smooth and pleasant to ride, but I hadn't done up seat tight enough (didn't want to over-tighten it...) so it gradually slipped own on uphills, did Dess bowl and started on Crossroads hill but turned back before top - pretty much a free-wheel to bottom of Deeside Way :-)

5km in garden - 16 laps of 319m each (as measured on OCAD map...).
Started steadily and second lap was slowest by far, then gradually warmed up and going 10-15 seconds quicker per lap be end!

home - Torphins via main road - Lumphanan - Dess bowl - Boddomend - home. A trip to pick up prescriptions was a good excuse for an extended return trip :-)
Legs felt strong, right knee a little tender on long grindy climbs.
Feeling the benefit of rest yesterday.

Note

Some gardening - wood preservative on 14 fence posts - about 2 hours. Plus a wee bit of digging.

With E, Dw to west, across A93 along past Kennels Cott, riverbank to flood hut and back up DW. Took it really slow down hill - so awkward, especially at start of run. By end and last climb back up was running much more smoothly.

Note

1.5 hours sawing/cutting gorse and broom with E along Deeside Way to east - track was getting bit overgrown. Not any more :-))

Stop near Cambus for an energy bar and some water but otherwise just kept ped'lin'
Another chilly day but wrapped up well and felt fine.

home - Potties - Aboyne - home. Pleasant ride, wore lots of kit and could laugh at the hail showers when they came. Morven glowing white with fresh snow - middle of May!
Cut short planned ride 'cos E wants bike after me. May sneak a double session with a wee run later.

Lap of Dess Woods. Felt legs tired after ride and almost bonked by end - small lunch too long ago!
A couple of snow showers, but sun v warm between :-)

Nice steady ride (well apart from the hills). home - Lumphanan cross roads, up to top, down to Lumphanan, up church road, down to Ptmurchie cross roads and back via Pitmurchie Road and DW. Lovely morning and enjoying the spinning along.
Realised half way up first hill I'd forgotten my helmet... Oops!

Steady run with E, down DW to east, then riverbank and back up DW from west. Knee tweaked a couple of times on initial decent (a bit quicker than I'd go on my own) but then settled and almost running normally at end (well, as normally as I ever manage).

Stop Hill cairn and back, mostly small paths or fields/forest. Legs felt terrible, nothing in them, plodded out, really struggling on hills. A bit better on return but still feeling a bit meh.
Left knee clicking a lot but only a couple of twinges - maybe 2-3/10. Iced it afterwards.

Strength 15:00 [2]

Carrying some fence posts from neighbours sawmill to gate. 3 posts, nearly killed me - 5" square about 6' long and wet timber... Heavy! Sweating buckets by end.

home - Potties (12 cars parked...) south side, Balfour/Birse loop - Aboyne - castle loop - Dess road south and along river bank path. Stopped fora wee dip - water not too cold but chosen spot was awful shallow, so more of a wallow!
Back home along bank and past bee cottage. Legs feeling mostly OK. Sunny and warm but strong breeze at times.

Note

Swim - managed about 1 minute of splashing in water too shallow to properly swim... need to choose better spot next time! River must be 2-3 feet lower than last swim.

lap of loch, legs feeling tired from yesterday (quads slightly tender and weak).
Very pleasant temp for running. Met 3 people, usually 15-20 on a nice day.

Mortlich from home. Steady effort along Deeside Way to Boddomend then took it easy up track to gate. Pushed a bit on the main climb, kept moving all the way, sweating buckets (first time for a while!). Cut directly down to bog (dry as a bone) and back via Boddomend & DW.
Knee was a bit tender on way out and started clicking on climb. Managed to descend more smoothly than previously - I think I'm just about trusting the knee to not collapse or really hurt.
Felt comfortable all the way - must have kept some fitness :-)

home - Aboyne - south side - Dinnet - Logie - Tarland - Aboyne - home. A bit windy at times but nothing too severe of for long. Lovely run back from Logie to Tarland/Aboyne with mostly a tail wind.
No stops for food or drink and feeling fine by end.

Dess Woods lap (missed out DW descent at start). Right knee fine, just a gradual dull ache for last few minutes - maybe 0.5/10. Left knee felt perfect for about 5 mins then slight twinging occasionally but nothing more than 1-2/10. A little bit of clicking at one point.
Iced it well after run and feeling good.
