Hour at ARI taking part in an experiment to measure fat/fitness stuff.

North from Torphins (while E practising tennis), up to Learny House and back. Hot and sweating buckets. Pleasant run. legs a bit tired/achey from pilates and sprints yesterday.

Hill of Banchory, planned short easy route, but new fencing up so quicker, longer finish than planned.

Session with new firmer foam rollers, Pretty good.

Met up with Aboyne Ac after-school running club (only chance to catch up with BP this week). 26 kids along, mostly have been at the Adventure running club - chuffed so many have stayed keen.
Out to Aboyne Castle grounds and some intervals, joined in steadily - no issues with calf.

With S down Deeside Way, along riverbank and back via back road and Deeside Way (west). Feeling pretty crap at start but brightened up and feeling OK at end.
Coaching was stressful - about 20 new beginners and 2 coaches... didn't get a chance to draw breath till about 40 minutes in.

Hanging controls in Dess for Sunday club training (40+ booked in...).
Feeling pretty ropey after hedge cutting.

Note

Hedge cutting and weeding plus a bit of grass raking after E had cut grass.
Arms pretty much shot be end. 3 hours or so.

Hill of Fare, west gate, up to plateau, to tower-house then (big mistake) north across valley to track on north edge of plateau. About 17 minutes to cross about 1km, deep heather, bracken and tussocks! Don't go there, ever.
Once on track continued west then south to join route up. Great views of mid-Deeside and a few rain showers scudding down the glen.
Calf totally fine.

Deeside Way then up past Sally & Neville's, lap of Dess Wood in reverse. Feeling quite bouncy leg-wise. No calf tightening.

Glen Dye local event. Felt tired at start - think cycling yesterday was harder than anticipated. Going OK till half way then really struggling on hills and in terrain.

Glen Isla, loop from carpark towards north and back via other side of hill. Long uphill at start - legs not working well, but got into it and enjoyed the ride.

With S from Victory Hall to Cambus bridge and back on Deeside Way. Very pleasant afternoon and a lovely cycle. Some effort esp on return and legs feeling a little tired at end (probably lack of cycling as much as anything!)

Run round Creag Choinnich to check on vegetation. Mighty little bracken and mostly short and scattered. Will be a great area next year.
Right calf not fully recovered - lots of little tweaks from around it. Also started getting zingers in right buttock again in afternoon - probably from gate/fence building...

Set off to do 3x6mins, but right calf tightened up after 2 minutes, so jogged back home. Bugger.

Intervals hills 21:00 [5]

Long hilll session with S in Dess Woods. to top of quarry pond each time 1 from DAP carpark, then from waterfall and ski slope, then from Deeside Way bridge.
Felt desperate on warm-up but got moving OK if unspectacular in the session. Good long hills so set off each one at less than max effort and gradually ramped up the effort.

Checking bracken for 6-Day area. Mild, windy day at Glen Fearer but very pleasant. Gradually slowed after approx 80 minutes - but terrain got tougher!

Lap of Dess Woods, pleasant if a little humid. Most way round wit dry-ish feet but grass up top by old farm was deep, lush and very wet! Nothing hurting after yesterday so thats a bonus.

Walk up Blaven - out for 3-20 or so. Tough climb with a couple of scramble bits, spectacular views from summit - but too windy to remain long.

some short walks on Raasay - an easy day to recover from PT. Struggling at times - lacking energy, lots of eating during the day!
