WMOC sprint qualification - easy course, a couple of minor wobbles and "safe" route choices, disappointed to be so far down - running speed?

Decent warm-up and dynamic stretching, felt a bit better running today - hope to improve by tomorrow again!

Run from col de Bussang in Vosges - tarmac road, steady up, then steady down. Very uninspired and legs feeling absolutely shite! , Did a few strides near end to try to get some blood flowing and feel like I was a runner....

Open race at WUOC long race area - fantastic terrain, lovely open pine forest. Legs felt absolutely dreadful - struggling up all hills and even on flat by end. Too long standing and walking around at the start!

Tower of Ess, to high point before Guard, left across stream, up to X roads above Osprey, down to fire pond, up Firmouth road, east across bog (dry feet crossing it!) onto Fungle track and down as far as Jamie's road, along this and back to Ess.No food or water, feeling tired by end.

Wet day driving home from Arnamurchan - short walk to Castle Tioram in the rain, visit to Arnamurchan light-house in the rain, got home and the sun came out - tents hung up and dried in 30 minutes!

Jog to start and then hanging tapes in Creag Choinnich for a control picking exercise for Sarah, Oleg and Ewan Mc. Lovely warm day, but legs tired and struggling to read ahead - map also showing its age a bit!

Long run with Sarah, parked on Glen Nochty road, ran past Glen Buchat Lodge, up old track (very sketchy low down) south of Hill of Coralea, over shoulder of Little Geal Charn and up to Carn Mor. Great views from top over Braes of Glenlivet to Cairngorms. Back via Dun Muir, Finlate Hill, Duff Defiance and past The Lost Gallery. Struggling up first (long) hill, had some food near top and perked up a bit, but never feeling bouncy or completely comfortable.

Wlak with Ewan & Sarah to Dunottar castle after school and on to the Bervie Chipper - end of term treat.
