Checking controls in Trossachs for SOL 1. Feeling dreadful from the start - weak and powerless - maybe not eaten enough on Friday? Improved as plod went on and positively racing along at end - ie was at least jogging!
Long map run with Sarah in Birse and Balfour Woods - checking for revised/new map potential. Lots of very nice forest and some areas of brilliant detail. Legs tired on uphills and in tougher parts due to intervals yesterday.
Wow - first interval session for weeks. 8x2+1 on railway line. Feeling OK and distance reasonable - into strong head wind on way out but much longer on return. Legs a bit achy afterwards, but nothing too terrible.
steady run warm up/down 40:00 [3]
Long way out (via Iain's shed) and back same way as logjam on stream has been removed.
collecting a few controls at junior training- had planned to do shadowing, but 15 juniors and 3 coaches in the light green/green group meant it didn't happen. Wet COLD snow in forest - solid cover and over ankle deep in places, hard work and very unpleasant.
Visit to physio - back not major structural- ie disc and nerve, just muscular - spasm and stiffness. Had a good pummeling and back felt better almost immediately.
Guiding for Running the Highlands Ballater to Balmoral via Glen Muick roads and south Deeside road, plus distillery loop. Steady pace, but stiff legs by end - not used to this much roads.
Guiding for Running the Highlands - Balmoral to east, up to distillery and along small road to east, then back along S Deeside road and to west gate of estate. Mild- 4-5C and snow very wet and slippy underfoot in the couple of places we had to cross it.
Extra session at Lumphanan. Feeling OK-ish apart from one small muscle tightness by right shoulder blade - only hurt on raising and lowering from floor, OK during exercises.
