2nd behind Roger Thetford who gained 30s on everyone getting the best route to 3. Could still have got back in front but went to 12 instead of 9 loosing 25s. Trying out new sprint shoes which were very good, light and fast but with good grip.

This was my target race and the one I was looking forward to. A mix of Park, Urban, and the very steep and complex Schlossberg area.
Unfortunately I couldn’t see the 1st control into the Schlossberg area on my map! (Colours) so lost 4 mins looking around for it, pushed pretty hard after this and lost my place again in the town loosing a further 2 mins. Other than that I was quicker than anyone and should really have won this one.
Finished 9th but somehow still held on to 2nd o/a for the weekend but an embarrassing amount behind Quentin.

Again very tricky course with no let up in technical navigation. Again on the pace until loosing 1.5 mins going to wrong side of a fence (Got distracted when I caught a Belgian rival and tried to go straight past).
Finished 2nd to Quentin again.

Atmospheric little race around the walls of Berwick. (Originally designed to keep people like me out!). Short and fast with a steep climb after about 1 mile.
Finished 4th with a strong last 500m.

Ran the MV course, finished 3rd but could easily have won.
Missed a small gap (again) early on with resulted in 2 poor route choices then got caught out (along with many others) when the course line obscured a narrow alley and lost another minute. Unfortunately got annoyed at this and concentration went for a while resulting in missing a few junctions etc but got it back together again at the end.
1:4000 rather than 1:5000 map may have helped but area probably too big for this.
