Practice for Compass Sport Cup. Not allowed to push the running so tried going straight on a few legs where there was white forest.
It didn't work, couldn't run or navigate (waist high brambles and bracken).
Lesson learned.
Made a 90 deg error at 3 also crossing the wrong stream!

Did the short course and took it very steady.

Been to doctors and had blood tests.
Now on antibiotics with blood samples sent for analysis

No training for this week, no racing this weekend, hopefully back into light training next week.

Poor performance, forest should have suited me but didn't switch speed well enough between the nice bits and the overgrown green bits, mentally tired at the end as was not orienteering just generally going in the direction of controls. Finished 61st but should have been in top 20.

Took it steady with only 1 error of about 1 min. Knew better what to expect with the map as same forest as yesterday.

Feeing a bit better so went out for a steady run but got hopelessly lost on a island in a marsh. Really struggled with interpretation of the marshes which varied from hard to distinguish to waist deep.

Feeling realy bad today (think I built myself up to get through yesterday and am now suffering for it). Also got a red target type rash appearing around a previous tick bite. (Suspect Lymes)

Still not feeling right but up for this one and decided to give it everything as outside chance of a medal. Going well but got the route choice leg wrong, pushing hard but couldn't tell which way up was by the end and ran past 3rd last control without punching it. (would have finished 9th)
Tried for all or nothing and would make the same decision again if in a similar position. (Got nothing)

Feeling bad, sore head and neck and have a temperature but better when out and about. Ran a controlled race amazed to finish 3rd and seeded for final.
