Great fun on a great area, runable but complex, ideal for a relay.
Got to the front of my gaffle and into the lead before an error at 4 dropped me to midfield but everyone was making errors in this area and got ack almost to the front again only to make a parallel error loosing several places. Pleased with this performance as only 1 min down on 2nd back.

Mistake early on and caught by Mark Saunders (local) should just have tagged on but as usual didn't and lost contact going to 11 resulting in having to come back out to relocate loosing lots of time. Steady from there to finish.

Not 100% so surprised to be still on the pace with the old men until 10. When I slowed down in the technical bit my glasses misted over, couldn't read the map, couldn't see the features, couldn't see where I was putting my feet. Glasses off usually works in urbans as I can read the map without them and don't need to see too much roundabout (apart from traffic!). Stumbled about getting very frustrated and lost lots of time until I could escape (and the rain eased off).
I need a solution for this. What do others who wear glasses do? I probably need more ventilation as I wear sports glasses which are quite enclosed.
Really can see nothing when they steam up and vision is pretty poor without them. Can't read the map with my contact lenses now.
Wasted 300 mile round trip.
Correction: Not wasted as I found a problem and will find a solution.

Training for VHI, tried to go safe on all legs.
Missed 3 and again at 4 despite being careful (think the map was a bit dodgy at 3 which left me wrong for 4). Hit everything else, lost out to Mike Billinghurst by taking a maverick route to the last control using a path (the direct route through a marsh turned out to be 45s quicker)

Usual messy performance at the middle.
Steady for first 7 controls then missed 8 and relocated badly form catching feature. (2 attempts). Got annoyed and ran too fast to 9 looking for a track crossing which was a course line, turned the wrong way on a path going to 11 and ran 200m in wrong direction loosing 2.30. Settle down again after this and steady to the finish.
Back down to earth today.

Bath Uni, tricky couse with lots odf detail on the map. (Too much to read at speed).
Messy run, passed Roger Thetford 4 times!
Qualified 1st but running too fast and making errors.

Bath Uni, tricky multi-level course.
Good controlled run, noticed I was catching Quentin about halfway round so steadied it up. Small mistake 3 from the end otherwise pretty clean.
Forgot to SI air the finish so lost a second there but delighted with 2nd place behind Clive Hallett and equal with Jon.
