VE with Kate. She's making good progress, although her appreciation of the wonderful weather saw her walk straight past #7. Luckily her tail was paying attention.

H4 at Fred Jacoby.
Took the chicken-out option as I couldn't be bothered bush bashing through the famous Nth Ledge crap and the H4 stayed in detail more than the H3.
Good to 1. Went to the two cliffs above #2 which looked almost identical to the two in the circle, must have nearly gone straight past the control. Lost 20 - 30 seconds. Clean to 3 and 4 where I overtook a line of "experienced" H4-ers. Bush was heavy going to 5 but managed to spike it. 6 was clean and 7 too. Small error to the right of 8, landed in the clearing and couldn't see the right cliff due to vegetation in the way. Dropped lower out of 8 than intended and ended up down on the bitumen. This ended up being the best route anyway, with only the steep climb along the pipeline to finish off.
Really glad I chickened out - it was actually fun to run the shorter course.
