That felt surprisingly good. Right knee was stiff during the warm up but absolutely no issue during the event. A couple of minor errors (all within 5m of the control) and head butting a tree branch near #13 were the only problems. Very happy to be within a couple of minutes of the winner's time.

Went out fairly hard and I think this is the way for me to do these events. At least that way I know I'm not finishing with gas in the tank. Not too sure of my place, but Rachel got me by 8 seconds - I'd like to watch our gps race and see where the differences were.

After a couple of weeks of not feeling too optimistic about niggling injuries that was good fun. First time I've ever run into the finish chute covered in claret.

Short warm up so as to join the queue and get done by the time Ceri arrived. Knee stiff but okay. Strongly suspect my outside right quad may be the issue as stretching it seemed to help.

Easy loop to feel things out. Knee was fine, left calf twinged a bit - same as right calf did at Carine MetrO.
