Running 25:00 [1]

Hamstrings sore warming up so a lot of jogging about and spent quite a bit of time in the warm up area trying to work out what everything looked like, lots of stretching before starting too and loosened off alright..

Orienteering 27:40 [5] 4.0 km (6:55 / km) +150m 5:49 / km

I wanted today to go well so badly.. last race before i move into the library for the next 6 weeks! Worked out where 1 was in the start lane and decided I'd go all the way round the path to be on the safe side, the rest in the woods seemed to go a lot better than I was expecting (i think this was where i peaked looking at splits!), 8,9,10 I was a bit hesitant and not particularly liking the heather! Then got back into it a bit on the long legs, wobbled to 12, through spectator, could hear the commentary and was like come on come come on, thought if i could get to spectator ok i could just hold on for the last loop.. missed 15 argh started to panic a bit but realised i was too high and only lost 30s or so, last loop was pretty clean but i was quite tired by this point and so desperate to get back to the finish, couldn't actually believe how long the last leg was i kept thinking i'd missed a control somewhere!!

Absolutely shattered at the end!! But so so so happy to have finally had a good run, with no big mistakes and been able to feel like i was running hard and been able to keep my head and not panic and stay in control in an important race (to me at least!) :D i absolutely loved it :) and never thought a middle race would go so well!! Happyyyy :) first time on a podium at a british (or JK!) since i was a w16!!

Running 30:00 [1]

Ish throughout the day

Orienteering 14:51 [5] 2.3 km (6:27 / km) +30m 6:04 / km

Qualifier - Massive mistake on 5 (45-50s), thought I could get through, got stuck, ran round, ran too far, ran back.. Trying to catch up time over the rest of the course and just about scraped into the A final.. phew!

Orienteering 14:54 [5] 2.2 km (6:46 / km) +45m 6:09 / km

Final - so much fun! And so tricky!! A bit hesitant though most of it and getting a bit confused around 6 and 7, wasn't looking ahead cause too concious about getting it right and not having a repeat of the morning! Very tired on the last few legs but happy in the end with it, just needed to be a bit smoother!

Gym 55:00 [1]

Very low resistance stuff, stretching everything out and trying to strengthen the 'opposite' muscles.. Then the horrible core circuit boooooooooooo! But at least I stayed on the fitball this time :D
