Orienteering race (Sprint Final) 20:24 [4] 2.99 km (6:49 / km) +43m 6:22 / km
shoes: Inov8 TrailRoc 235

Yet again lost this on one control. Concentrated into 1 then ran straight past 2 while looking ahead. Stupid mistake and really cross.

Should have taken northern route into 12 and hesitated out of 13 because what was a path on the map looked like it might be uncrossable olive green on the ground.

Cath beat me by 30s

Orienteering race (Public Sprint Relay) 15:31 [4] 2.73 km (5:41 / km) +48m 5:14 / km
shoes: Inov8 TrailRoc 235

Unexpected run out on the womens elite/public relay course. Turns out knowing where all the control sites are helps. Did more out and back into controls than I thought I would from jogging it/ looking at the screen/ and definitely felt the stairs.

Given how similar Cath and my splits are at the moment would have been interesting to run the A and B courses against each other (though this would have been less good after the grafitti tunnel was closed off)

Orienteering race (Sprint Heats) 19:48 [4] 3.03 km (6:32 / km) +4m 6:30 / km
shoes: Inov8 Oroc 280

Had got a bit warm by the time this was on.

Messed up 1st control, like most people. Hadn't gone far enough (since realised this is partly because I didn't realise the map was 1:5000 rather than 1:4000, and also because I couldn't really see the green under the circle)

After that I was clean, if a little hesitant.

Note

was meant to run up to Sydney uni to check control sites. ran about a k, decided I wasn't feeling it and then walked.

tapering has been more stopping.
