I was looking forward to this, but as I left work realised that that was because I thought it was the nice sprint map of Oak Hill Park, rather than Grovelands - there's woods there but all very vague.

Anyway, was fun, did fine apart from running straight 1->2 and going too far. Meant to run straight til hit ditch, control being on form line just after. In reality ddn't see ditch or form line. Don't think I lost loads though. Ok after that (though did follow Vince 270 deg round a tree).

HRM seems to have gone a bit crazy.

Intention to do a bit of a recovery run/stretch of the legs but felt pretty dreadful running up the parkland walk - not sure why I was so slow, maybe just that it's deceptively a bit uphill.

As felt bit rubbish just went out and back. Nice evening, bits where the trees meet over the path reminded me of Hockney paintings i saw last year.

Didn't sleep very well - maybe 4 hours. Thought i'd be ok when I got there (having had coffee on the drive down) but felt sick and pretty much wanted to lie down and sleep. Breathing went bad on the way to first control so had to stop til it calmed down.

feeling pretty awful so just jogged and walked. Lovely day so didn't really want to go back, and thought I might as well get round. For a while kept catching up 2 ladies when they made mistakes, but then managed to take wrong path (1:25000 map not amazing and probably worth a recce). Stopped at chatted to Steve on top of Leith Hill (debated having an ice cream) which apparently I didn't punch...

Pretty ok after that stomach calmed down and found a bit of stamina and actually started enjoying the run. GG flew past me on the way to win the A halfway between 10-11 and somehow ended up bushwhacking to the final tower.

So in the end, crappy run but a nice day so can't really complain. Should sleep well tonight.
