In to Linn of Avon from Corgarff. Clagged in and baltic - had to stop to add more layers and dig out heavy gloves. Somehow missed this in the forecast. On the plus side saw an eagle lift off in front of me at Lagganauld.

Running 3:15:00 [3] 19.84 km (9:50 / km) +947m 7:56 / km

Up the path onto the Ben Avon plateau. Bugger all viz and barely seeing the line of the path in front of me. Once the path ended the nav got even more interesting. Occurred to me at that point that I really should have printed off a map for today…. made sure then to cuddle the phone up in a buff to try and ensure the battery didn’t die. Compass had a bubble in it too, and wasn’t confident it was settling right. It’s quite confusing up there when you can’t see the slopes, so was stopping at regular intervals to check location. Made sure to map memory some bearings ahead too, in case of electronic failure! Pretty chilly in the damp clag, though thankfully not too windy, and my mood (which was poor at the start) reflected the weather. One of those days when I really could have used some company. Hit the top eventually and then headed off the north ridge on a line I’d not run before, hoping it wasn’t going to be too steep / rocky and / or snowy. Thankfully it wasn’t and would be a lovely line off in better weather, though the trudge at the bottom to reach the Avon and track was messy through some complex terrain. Then it was just a tired (though somewhat relieved) plod back down to the bike.
Not memorable for much other than slogging it out, but will need to head back in better weather to explore further.

Back oot. Only highlight being to see the eagle again, further along the track.

Dusting down the MTB whilst the trails are nice and dusty. With E and bumped into EC in the cp so did the first two runs with her too. Various combos of chutney and relish. Lovely new sweepy bottom section to relish. Fun! Hope to try and get out more regularly once I have a bit more time :-)

Peter Hill social with 5 other DR ladies plus RB. Normal route to the top then back off the east end, dropping towards Bogmore. Gorgeous evening but got quite chilly once the sun disappeared.

Stop off at Tap o’ Noth on the way home from a meeting in Huntly. 15x1’ + 1’ part jog back recovery. Felt quite hard work but ground it out, albeit getting a bit wobbly after the 8th! Beautiful day. Good to get some kind of quality session in.

Monday spin on Tuesday…. Various niggles including a really tight right calf, suggesting a day off running would be prudent. Round Dess bowl, up to Xrds and back by Lumpy.

Carnferg from Birse then off the back and return by Oh Gorse and Chutney. Steady plod, feeling ok but not majorly spritely. Nice day with skylark song in the air. Last solo run with N for a while… think I’m going to miss him :-(
Bike trails nicely cleared and looking in good nick atm - must get the MTB out!
