Mountain biking 1:10:00 [3] 9.19 km (7:37 / km) +360m 6:22 / km
ahr:118 max:160

With SS. From Keiloch up the Slugain to the ruins (CP22 #60), with a wee nosey into the secret howff on the way.

Running 4:15:00 [3] 24.85 km (10:16 / km) +1050m 8:28 / km
ahr:117 max:174

From there on foot up to the BaB Dubh Lochan (CP20 #61). Plenty of snow from leaving the main valley path on upwards. Breaking through bridges in a lot of places, so needed to be a bit careful. Steeper section of hard snow warranted getting the microspikes on. DL still very well frozen over. From there climbed onto the plateau by the Chioch ridge which was essentially snow free and a fun wee scramble. Stunning views into the main Cairngorm massif and all around from the plateau. By this stage S had suggested continuing on to Ben Avon and on such a fab day there was no reason not to. Blue skies, sunshine and not a breath of wind :-)))) Returned down the valley from the col between BaB and BA to rejoin outward path. Brief dip in a cold muddy pool before returning to the bikes.

Mountain biking 27:04 [3] 7.33 km (3:42 / km) +25m 3:38 / km
ahr:113 max:144

Back out.
What an awesome day to round off a cracking wee mini break! Chuffed with 90km and 4000m of run climb for the week ... and still holding together. Sore toe from yesterday was much better today and otherwise felt just one or two short lived niggles during the run.

Up GT towards MK

Running 2:40:00 [3] 15.48 km (10:20 / km) +863m 8:05 / km
ahr:118 max:165

Tour of the remaining MK CPs with RB- Black Craig (74), Braid Cairn (72), MK, Head of Black Burn (68) and Quartz Cliff (67 #56-58). Then back to the bikes. Feeling it in the legs but hobbling even more from a sore toe! Lovely day - t-shirt weather!

Mountain biking 28:54 [3] 10.52 km (2:45 / km)
ahr:114 max:139

Back down. Dip in the Tanar at the end.

From Glen Muick cp up the loch side

Running 3:00:00 [3] 18.69 km (9:38 / km) +912m 7:44 / km
ahr:123 max:172

Up to Dubh Loch (CP 41 #53) then on up onto Cairn Bannoch. Plenty of snow still around here and got the chance to test out the new microspikes on a steep climb up towards the top. Snow was soft enough to kick in so would have been fine without, although the axe I didn't take could have been a bit reassuring! From there along the tops to Cairn of Gowal (CP38 #54), then Broad Cairn before dropping to the stables. Then out and back over Sandy Hill (nice track to top) and on to Broom Hill (CP46 #55). Sun came out properly on BH and lay sun-bathing on the grass looking down over Glen Doll for 15' or so - glorious! Back by the lightning strike to the end of the loch and the bike.

Mountain biking 25:04 [3] 6.5 km (3:51 / km) +50m 3:43 / km
ahr:116 max:152

And back, stopping at the boat house for a quick dunk in Loch Muick. Coooold! Jumped on the bike and pedalled back rapidly before hypothermia set in :-)

Mountain biking 52:00 [3] 10.77 km (4:50 / km) +117m 4:35 / km
ahr:117 max:136

CP date day with J. In from Linn of Dee to Chest of Dee (CP12 #50) and Bynack Lodge (CP9 #51). Peewits a plenty in the fields.

Running 1:37:00 [3] 11.32 km (8:34 / km) +426m 7:13 / km
ahr:128 max:173

Circular loop from Bynack Lodge up onto Coire na Creige (CP5 #52). Out a couple of km along the main valley for a couple of km then angled up onto the top. Back by the ridge line, picking up a bit of a vehicle track for much of the descent. Great views to Beinn a Ghlo from the high point. Several golden plover along the ridge.

Mountain biking 33:33 [3] 9.3 km (3:36 / km) +17m 3:34 / km
ahr:121 max:153

And back, dodging frogs along the way.
Cracking outing!

Carnferg with EM. Felt dreadful but tried to make myself keep moving up the hill. What doesn't kill you...
Rest of the week off work and hoping to kick start some decent hours in the hills without getting injured, hence use of bike to supplement runs.

6x2’+2’ on the DAP hill. Feeling heavy and sluggish so didn’t force myself to try and do more - plenty of opportunity during the rest of this week. Nothing specifically sore after yesterday’s physio, but body will likely take a day or two to recover from the pummelling!

Running 28:21 [2] 4.3 km (6:36 / km) +113m 5:50 / km

Just time for a wee jog round the woods.
Had a session with EMat earlier in the day where she had a right good go at my back and pelvis - and I thought it was my foot that was the problem!
