A loop round the hills to the north of Gairnshiel with J. Was a bit dreicher than anticipated with a bitter wind. Not the most exciting of hills but always nice to explore somewhere new. Legs pretty heavy on the climb.

Glen Girnock circular with JS. Started over Creag Ghuibhais cos I knew we would never do it if we left it until the end and it was new to J. Still one of my fave hills even if the heather is a brute, and the rainbows and light made it really atmospheric today. Next up was Creag nam Ban where I was hoping to find a nicer line up from the NE, but it was just as bad a monster heather slog. Think we just about managed 3km in the first hour! After that it was along the Sgor an h’Iolaire ridge before dropping to the track. Original plan to take in some more of the southern tops was clearly going to be too much, so climbed directly onto Coyles of Muick instead. Then back along the ridge. Tough going but a great fun outing. Legs feeling a bit heavy all day, but survived it ok.

Checking out some of the bike trails on Green Hill, by foot, with KH. Lovely wee run with some good climbs and technical descents. Could make a good hilly fartlek session. Legs didn’t feel too bad after the last couple of days. Good chat.

Peter Hill loop with JS. It’s always a long slog up PH but could have felt a lot worse after last night’s session. Using J ahead to try and keep me working. Time to top was only 12 secs slower than last time - I’ll take that. Bit wetter on the descent and river bank path and good focus required in the dark. Love this loop though and lots of fun as a night run.

Beating the blues by flogging myself round GT. 2 x big hilly loops above the chapel, then 4 x short flatter loops out towards the faery loch. First set of intervals I’ve done in a while on relatively fresh legs and it was certainly easier to push myself. Nice not to be right at the back for once. Should help get the endorphins flowing again.

Cambus in the vague hope of finding missing control 128. Feeling flat and unmotivated and didn't manage to make myself go much further. "End of season" blues I guess, but I really do need to find something that's going to motivate me through the autumn and winter.
