N Strathfarrar ridge taking in 4 Munro tops. First 40’ with J before he headed back to taxi E. Someone opened the taps just as we set off and had to stop within 5’ for waterproof trousers on. Eased after 20’ or so. Boggy but straight forward slog onto Sgurr na Rhuaide. Then it got stupidly windy for a while. Had to stop to put on yet more kit and struggling to stand at times. Still windy on Carn nan Ghobar, but after dropping to the col and climbing towards top no 3 the wind completely disappeared, the sun was out and I was massively over heating. Nice to stop on Sgurr a Choire Ghlais to take kit off, eat, and socialise with a runner heading in the opposite direction. Stayed pretty bright after that and opted for the high level route after Sgurr Fhuar Thuill with an extra wee climb over Sgurr na Muice. Down to my strategically located bike as planned in 4h.

Whizz back down Glen Strathfarrar with a nice tailwind. Then sat in the sun to wait for J and E. Grand day out :-))

From A93 lay-by round LK then on up CD. Back by the dragonfly loop to finish down by the loch for a splash. Set off easy but didn’t feel too bad once I got into it, so put in a bit of an effort on the CD climb. Enjoyed getting into my own little zone and flow today. Busy round the loch and vat (loads of SUPers) but enough space for all and pleasantly surprised at how tidy it was.

Peter Hill loop with JS. Felt a bit sluggish on the climb, probably not helped by the heat and humidity (actually turns out it was a pb for the climb). Lovely run off the top but couldn’t keep anywhere near JS flying down through the heather. Path down the valley really quite overgrown at the moment, but a lovely descent all the same. Too much bracken alongside the riverbank path too. Gorgeous evening and a lovely run with good company.

Strength and conditioning 15:00 [1]

Back to UTB D17. Been doing regular basic foot exercises but want to try and keep chipping away at this too.

Running 49:55 [3] 7.24 km (6:54 / km) +192m 6:05 / km

Steady from Slewdrum cp down to the bottom track then eastwards and up to Tillylair trig. Back by top track and DW. Feeling slow and low on energy. Think I maybe didn’t refuel properly after the w/e and also been working quite intensively. Not too worried as meant to be recovery days anyhow.

V chill cruise round the Dess bowl. Feeling tired, but nothing majorly sore. Planning another easy day tomorrow - hadn't intended to do quite so much last week, and keen to get a bit of R+R now so that I can make the most of annual leave opportunities!
