To ToE. Into a brief snow flurry at the start.

Glen Tanar. Riverbank path to the visitor centre then up the diagonal through the trees, track above osprey and back down towards ToE again.
Foot not feeling great at the start on the track but settled a bit on the smaller path. But then my knee started hurting at the front soon followed by tendons behind the knee tightening up. Stopped to stretch everything out and should probably have turned back at this point but couldn’t bring myself to do so. Felt a bit better on the climb with a different foot placement, but the long descent from below Baudy Meg wasn’t good. Meh.
Think I worked it quite hard with the exercises last night. Will wind back again to try and let it settle better and then try again.

Feeling uninspired. Decided it was probably because I was tired so had a bit of a recovery day. Biked along to Aboyne Loch, wandered round on foot, then up to Queens Loch and another wander there. Rain came on before I got back on the bike, so headed straight home. That was enough.

Out to Craig Lash to visit my 5-mile-south point on the southern top, then a loop back through the forest. So beautiful up top - one of my favourite spots. And was rewarded with hearing my first cuckoos too. Dried up nicely for the run. Foot holding up.

And home again. Rain came back on for the last 10' or so. Attacked the DW back from Kinker as I discovered I had a top 10 strava time on the segment yesterday without trying. Managed to improve that to 3rd spot today by putting some effort in - that's unheard of for me on a bike, but then not many folk take their road bikes up there!

Taking up the 5-mile from home 8 cardinal points challenge. Managed to knock off N (Collie hill just off Alford Rd), NE (milestone just past Tornaveen) and E (Glassel junction). These were some of the easy ones. Fab day again. New bike spinning nicely although legs didn’t feel great.

River bank to Bell Wood, across to Boddomend and back on the DW. Gorgeous day, first of the lupins out down by the river, sandpiper on the bank and blossom aplenty. Bit longer than planned. Walked back up the hill at end to save foot.

New bike - exciting times! Test run out over P'murchie, Lumphanan and then round the top Dess bowl road. Definitely got a couple of extra gears for the climb and feeling lovely and smooth. Happy days!

Shortest lap of LK with J. Still running a bit oddly with left foot and getting occasional knee pain which is likely linked. Serenely peaceful on the loch.
