Road cycling 2:15:00 [3] 43.47 km (3:06 / km) +671m 2:53 / km
ahr:112 max:142

Not feeling very sprightly or motivated, so decided to head out and go with my feelings, but just taking it as a real cruise. Vague plan was to stay very local and do some of the climbs up to the Tarland Rd which would let me chop and change to suit. In the end I did a decent session with 4 steady climbs. First over P'murchie, up from Sundayswells, down to P'murchie road end again, Lumphanan and up Kirk Brae, long stop to chat to D+EC, down by Bogentassie, up to X roads then back via the Dess bowl loop. ~25 cyclists and rather fewer cars - bliss!
Felt a lot better for it.

Running 34:56 [2] 5.02 km (6:58 / km) +101m 6:19 / km
ahr:124 max:147

Had planned to bike today and run tomorrow, but didn't feel up for anything too long today, this seemed like an easy option and foot didn't seem to be any the worse for yesterday's run. So, run 5 donate 5 nominate 5 for the NHS it was. All on soft path / grass. Foot a bit sore to start but didn't get any worse.
No running tmrw.

Note

Also a walk over to DAP for some tatties and goodness knows how many reps of the garden, a fair few with full barrows.

Discovered last night that the worrying pain in my right heel had a very simple explanation with some unidentified object well buried under the skin. J had an unsuccessful go at extracting it, but now that I know what's causing the pain I've stopped worrying abbout it.

Steady home along the DW after.
Good. Got a bit of a buzz from the reps.

Mountain biking 2:10:00 [3] 23.51 km (5:32 / km) +492m 5:00 / km
ahr:124 max:152

C-w loop over to Coull from the south side of Mortlich then back to Dess bowl by Lochmanse. Road around the top of the bowl then onto the military road and fields back from Lumphanan.
Struggling to find the love on my awkward heavy MTB and really not enjoying hoiking it over too many gates (~28 in total, half of which were either locked or too difficult to open). Got a real tweak from my sore foot at one point when I tried to push off - not what I am looking for right now.
But at least I got out and it had dried up nicely. Really mustn't grumble.

Roller skiing 29:30 [2] 5.02 km (5:52 / km)
ahr:113 max:131

Never quite managed to get myself registered for the 5km April roller ski challenge but thought I'd give it a go anyhow. Up in Aboyne to shop so a good opportunity for an outing on the castle drive. As ever, felt distinctly rusty and wobbly at the start and ankles were complaining like mad. Ankles soon settled down, but took most of the 5km to find any muscle memory and relax a bit! Fun though - should try and get going more regularly again.

Running 16:40 [2] 2.21 km (7:32 / km) +70m 6:30 / km
ahr:150 max:180

A wee foot test from the house. Tweaking under the arch at the start, but settled after 5' or so and only 2/10 discomfort thereafter. No apparent after effects. Walking around I can feel both heels a bit, but it's the right one that's actually more tender now... need to try and nip that in the bud before it develops into anything more.

Road cycling 48:00 [2] 14.3 km (3:21 / km) +65m 3:17 / km
ahr:130 max:149

Out by A93 to Boddomend, cruise back between reps and home on the DW

Road cycling intervals 15:00 [4] 6.5 km (2:18 / km) +190m 2:01 / km

15x~1’ reps on the start of the climb from Boddomend. Aim was to try and get the HR up a bit as it seems to be the main missing factor with regular cycling for me. Moderately successful although I think I need a slightly longer rep to maximise it. Too much further / climb and it would turn into leg strength too much.

Orienteering 45:00 [2] 3.51 km (12:49 / km) +55m 11:53 / km
ahr:109 max:144

Wandering round Dess woods drawing a squirrel. Could feel foot niggling a little walking in the rough terrain, but I think on balance it was probably quite good to work it gently. Squirrel turned out not too bad, although I went a bit off-line with its feet again. Think the boundary of the felled bit is wrong as I seem to keep going off line there (well that's my excuse!).

Running 6:37 [2] 0.92 km (7:12 / km) +15m 6:40 / km
ahr:119 max:130

Jog / walk back to the house testing the foot just a touch more at the end.
Can feel it a little more afterwards, but nothing too much.
