Running warm up/down 10:00 [2]

Bit of a jog and some drills while waiting for everyone to turn up. Legs feeling surprisingly good.

Running 1:30:00 [3] 12.6 km (7:09 / km) +300m 6:23 / km

Guiding for RTH. BoV north to edge of muir then across the road and over the shoulder towards Cambus. Up Cnoc Dubh and back down to the rd, then a loop round the boardwalk and past the witches hut. Much faffing again, but decent pace in between. Fun!

Running 2:30:00 [3] 23.6 km (6:21 / km) +400m 5:52 / km

Guiding for RTH. Balmoral 15 miler. C-w round Ripe Hill, Green Bridge, White Bridge and back along the bottom. Wet at start but soon dried up. Niggle in R hamstring towards the back end but otherwise fine and good steady pace, albeit with a bit of faffing in between. Out for 3h.

Guiding for RTH. From Douneside up and around Pitenderich. Managed to avoid the heavy downpours and some great views with dramatic light coming off the hill. Lovely group of ladies.

Hanging and collecting for ASC. Really great bunch of kids - think we're going to have fun. JGs help much appreciated too. And it even dried up nicely:-)

Managed to extend w-u by leaving compass in the car and going back for it. To start and short jog back at end.

Orienteering 34:00 [4] 5.0 km (6:48 / km) +60m 6:25 / km

Bellwood WeTT. After getting seriously dropped last week I decided some more cunning planning was called for. Gaffled relay practice with some slight biasing in the gaffling... got me back second behind JG who had run a bit further. Good workout, even if I had visited most of the control sites last week and am a bit over-familiar with BW!

More controlling at Forvie. Felt totally on top of it technically today, but kind of ran out of energy after ~70' - as much brain frazzle as anything. Managed to get round everything. Out for almost 2h total.

Checking tags at Forvie. Tricky stuff, but Lidar contours are all there. Good tech training for VHIs.
SOL will be great - not one to miss.
