Out to the fields and Bullivard, back by cow shit alley and the sloc. Gorgeous afternoon again. Feeling ok until I hit the hills.

Note

Morning helping at x-c skiing. Lots of faff and not much time on skis.

Running hills 30:00 [5]

3 x sets of 5x1'+1' on the hill up from DW bridge, with jog back part way each minute and back to bottom between sets. Good one to grind out. Had to force myself to start the 3rd set, but it was ok in the end.

Running warm up/down 37:00 [2]

Good long w-u loop round the woods first (~22'), 5' jog back between 2 sets, then short w-d at the end. Feeling fresher after a couple of easy days.

To Aboyne via WHW, Bell Wood and Low Rd. Messages, then back by DW. Really pleasant.

Slow plod from home up Mortlich. Couldn't face usual climb so decided to trial a route up from the east. A bit brackeny low down but some animal tracks higher up. Tired. Good to meet DS out doing intervals again on the railway.

Really enjoyed almost all of this tonight. Felt ok running and was keeping good map contact and spiking controls. Until the last one :-( Knew it would be tricky so played safe and ran down the track to where the re-entrant crossed to attack. Never found control despite bouncing off veg boundary, re-entrant again etc. Eventually ran to the finish (across the road) to re-locate. Hit that ok, went back and still didn't find it straight off, but persisted as I knew I must be close and eventually got it. 13' and a decent run totally binned :-(

Along DW from Boghead cp to Dinnet and back after intervals.

Running intervals 30:00 [5]

5x4'+2' on the DW from Dinnet. 3 x out W then 2 back. Felt so tough with legs still heavy from w/e. Only managing 900s on the way out (up into headwind), then 980/90 on the way back. Done.

Short of time. Loop out by the fields to P'murchie Rd. Almost got taken out by a Deeside Road Construction truck coming v fast round the bend on my side of the road - scary. Back up the DW and through the woods.

Busy day with various bits of jogging about; control hanging in Braemar, jogging back through the village from the school, then control hanging in Aboyne.
