Dess bowl watershed. From home through woods and across fields, Military road to Lumphanan and on up to Tarland road, along to Crossroads, ridge to Craiglich, Mortlich and back by the DW. Not feeling bright when I set off, but picked up after ~45' and was going ok until the last 15' or so. Still not sure the body can cope with 5h+ though. L knee and R calf niggling at the end.
Stopped at the bridge for an ice bath which was good.
Up to Aboyne with E and J then on with J while E at tennis - ToEss, Braeloine, over the hill, Dinnet and DW to Aboyne. Then back home via Bell Wood to check out the bike park. E not impressed. Got caught by the monsoon in the last 10 minutes. E even less impressed.
Nice spin without hopefully doing any damage.
Headed up Morven with J. Was meant to be the full monty but as soon as we set off we realised that neither of us had it in us. So did 16 x 1'+1' up onto the plateau and that was more than enough. Legs just dead by the end of each minute and breathing not feeling good. I guess last w/e must really have taken something out of me - let's just hope it pays dividends in fitness.
Running28:00 [3]
Jog / walk up to the big tree to start hills, then back down from the plateau at the end. Enough for today.
Cycle in with Marie from Oykel Bridge to start of run. Only just made it ahead of C and D.

Short leg with Marie along the river side. M on a mission and had to work at race pace to stay with her. Just as well it wasn't any longer.

Running1:14:00 [4]
With Ruth from Loch Stack down the river to Rhiconich. Didn't try to go with Rs pace as I knew I wouldn't be able to sustain it - she realised fairly rapidly and dropped back to let me set it. Middle 5km was expected to be trackless but picked up a reasonable trod along most of the loch side. Nice piece of terrain running and felt I managed a steady pace.

Note
We made it - Kirk Yetholm to Cape Wrath in 90 hours and ~ 21 minutes
What a performance. Not least the logistics masterminded by DH.
