Orienteering race 1:02:00 [4]

Blue course at Tyrebagger. Feeling very heavy legged from the start. Spent a few minutes looking for no 4, which was in the wrong pit well outside the circle. Also faffed at no 12. Otherwise just not very inspiringly planned and a shame we didn't use the nice bit of technical forest - don't know if there was a reason. Lovely sunny warm day though.

Same loop out behind the house as a couple of weeks ago:~1' flat, jog down to bottom of short hill, ~30" up. 10 x reps with flat splits of: 53,52,53,53,52,51,49,?,48,47
Hill splits of: 29,29,29,29,28,28,28,28,27,26
So session got better as it went on again. From rep 7 started to focus on running style and using my arms and it made a difference to the split.

At Glen Tanar with E. 2 bridges loop and back by the mill pond. E was trying out the next size of bike and fair whizzing along, although finding the reach a bit long. Another great day.

So a w/e at home it is- no difficult decision given how knackered I felt this morning. Felt better for a short turn round the woods though, and legs were quite fresh. Time to get the protective headgear out as psycho buzz is back in buzness. 4 attacks out in the fields and back into his corner of the woods until I started waving a stick above my head.

Travelling home. Starting to feel I CBA with this w/e. Just going to be one big rush and a long tedious hang around on Sat between races. See how I feel in the morning.

Running 30:00 [3]

Finished meetings in time to have a bit of an explore in-land towards the Garraf. Didn't land up where I intended, but found some forest tracks up into the hills and had a pleasant run. Bit of an "uh-oh" moment at one stage when I started heading down the wrong ridge on the way back (with dusk threatening) but managed to sort myself out ok.
Not feeling great, probably not helped by too many hours in meeting rooms. Didn't sleep last night either, as a storm whipped up and whirled around my 7th floor balcony, sending the outdoor furniture crashing from side to side. Dried up now, but warmer in Deeside I suspect ;-{

Early morning explore of the headland to the S of Sitges. Sketched some tracks off a g'earth image, which worked quite well once I figured out I'd parked in a different spot from where I thought. Pleasant mixed forest / maquis above a rocky headland. Nice morning but not warm. Shame there wasn't more time to explore further.

Long run at Montserrat. Blue skies, sun and lots of whacky rock pillers - brilliant ;-}} Love this place. Got a good map now too, so can try going in from a different start point next time. Ran pretty much the same route as with J last time, but in reverse. Took in the high point of St Jeroni. Surprising number of people around for a Mon morning - wouldn't want to be there on a busy w/e.
