Orienteering race 43:00 [5]

St Andrews urban race. Ran well. Just overshot an alley going to no 16 and then mis-interpreted control site at 17 - cross about that one. Cost ~1' and a poor control description in my opinion. Otherwise a fun race with lots of good route choice. Stuffed full of cold now, but legs didn't feel too bad - helped that it was flat.

2nd stretching session of the day - woo!

Enjoyed the w/e as a whole. As always really motivating to be with such an enthusiastic bunch of youngsters. Know what I need to do myself to get back into shape. Might be difficult over the next few weeks with work commitments, but need to get my priorities sorted out again.

Scottish sprint champs round 1, St Andrews uni. Pretty clean - just missed one route out of a control and a bit hesitant at one other.

Scottish sprint champs round 2. Too much of a blast for me. Couldn't keep up.

Norman's Law - meant to be picking up controls but things didn't quite work. Knackered.

With J in Glen Tanar. Out the reverse of Tues long run, then back by 2 bridges and mill pond track. Really nice ride. Felt hard work up the hill at the start, but better later.

Running 45:00 [3]

With J from Aboyne out by the golf course to woods above Aboyne Loch. Did a recky of the terrain to the east of existing map - really quite nice with some bits of rock and contour detail. Back along the bottom and the loch side. Not feeling great, but nice to be out.

Running hills 20:00 [4]

10 x 1' hills with jog back recovery (>1'). First one in a while so took it steady and didn't worry about distance. Need to work back up gradually. Right inner thigh felt a bit tight and legs generally heavy.
