Running race 24:00 [5]

Cross-country at Haddo House. Went pretty well and felt surprisingly ok after yeaterday. Was soft and muddy underfoot which helped. Hill went ok but then lost a couple of places on flat section along loch side. Dug in coming back across grassy section to get back past and then went for it up the rough bit of hill. Thought I'd struggle to find anything for the last field, but there was a sprint there, so pretty happy at the end.
Slept really well last night and woke up feeling quite fresh which makes a big difference.
Just need lots more sessions like this to get me fit for the spring O season.

Orienteering race 47:00 [5]

Edinburgh city race. Fun but made too many mistakes - not focussing as well as required. Legs felt much better warming up, but tired again as soon as I set off. Bitter wind. Chilled off badly at the end - low on energy maybe.

With J up Millstone Hill. Haven't been up there for many years. Nice wee run. Legs v tired on the way up and slippy coming back down on the snow with trail shoes.

Orienteering race 1:00:00 [4]

DNC at Ballogie. Reasonable run - just a few hesitations and over-shot no 6 (not concentrating). Tired on the uphills and calfs cramping - must try and drink something more than just 2 coffees during the day... Good to be back with my own compass, settling nicely and pointing in the right direction. Makes me happy that compass problems at Big 5 O were genuine equipment issues.

Short loop round H'head. Very cold but another beautiful day. Legs feeling good.
