Orienteering race 1:00:00 [5]

Bogendreip. Ran blue - didn't want to overdo it on my foot. Navigation mostly fine until 11 which I stuffed a treat. Must have been trying to keep up with Carolyn that was the problem! Achilles was niggling throughout but didn't get any worse.

Note
(rest day)

Give the achilles a chance to settle

Running 1:30:00 [3]

With J from Cambus up onto Cnoc Dubh, down to Dinnet Muir, along to the N end then up the old track over the shoulder and back down to Cambus. Took a while to warm up but got going ok and tried to work hard on the hills. Left foot was sore towards the end - not just achilles, but also round the front. Have iced it now.
Cambus is a real mess from forestry work - not looking so good for the SOL.

Stretching 15:00 [1]

Running 45:00 [3]

Lap of H'head. Legs not too bad, but already feeling mentally drained. Going to be a tough few weeks at work. Left achilles felt ok running - don't think it's going to be a problem.

Pilates 1:00:00 [1]

X-country skiing 1:45:00 [2]

With J and E at Stangtjarn again. Skied backwards and forwards a lot to get a reasonable work out. Very cold especially in the open areas. Achilles niggling the whole time but ignorable once I got warmed up.
2 PM

Note

Drove down to Karlstad pm and sledged for an hour or so with E.

Note

Left achilles sore - from my x-country boots I think. Also sore left thumb. Think I must have staved it when I fell yesterday.

D/h Skiing 1:00:00 [2]

At Bjorsas. Went through a wobbly spell with E at the start but we all enjoyed it once he got a bit of confidence. Managed to get him up to the top of the hill on the chair and back down a long blue run by the end. Really enjoyed it myself - snow great and skiing felt relaxed.
Out for 3 hours. Achilles was fine in downhill boots but couldn't have done x- country. Hope it feels better tomorrow.
