Cross-country race 22:19 [5]

Knockburn Loch xc. Felt rough on the first lap but stronger towards the end. Decent course. Seemed a long way down but 2nd vet apparently.
E ran his first xc race too - proud mum!

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2]

Checked Es course with him and did a lap of the short course. Short warm down.

Note

Oops - completely forgot to stretch before bed - tut tut

Easy leg loosener round the woods. Still tired from Thu.

Note
(rest day)

Glad I got the long run out the way yesterday given today's weather.

Running (hill run) 1:42:00 [3]

From the Strathdon back road, S of the river. Out by Glen Conrie on the big track up onto Scraulac, along the tops to Mona Gowan, then back directly by the track N off the top. Weather not too bad when I set off, but by the time I got up to 650m driving sleet set in for 30 mins or so. Really unpleasant and struggling to stay warm - had only one eye peeping out of my buff for a while. A couple of stretches of the track were filled in with drifted snow too. Otherwise a good run, didn't feel great on the hill but managed to keep going steadily.

Pilates 1:00:00 [1]

Too much work on the hips and glutes for tired legs to do well.

Running intervals (tracks) 28:00 [5]

7 x 3' + 1' on tracks round H'head. Distances were poor, but it was pretty blustery and the tracks slippery. Managed to avoid the rain at least.

Running warm up/down 22:00 [2]

To and from intervals.

Stretching 15:00 [1]

Running (tracks) 26:00 [3]

Forgot to take my running tights to work, so couldn't get out at lunchtime. Went for a headtorch run after I got home and before J went out so not much time. Actually really enjoyable and a good chance to test the new headtorch out before DNC kicks off next week - yay ;-}

Running tempo (tracks) 20:00 [5]

Having had an easy w/e, thought it would be good to get ahead and do a quality session today. Feeling hung over this morning, which was odd as I hadn't touched a drop last night, but managed to get myself out to Shooting Greens eventually. Ran down to the river to do a pace run - 10' out, then turn round and chase my time on the way back. Left foot started niggling again (in a different spot) so almost didn't start, but gave it a go and after 2' or so felt a lot better. Managed to get just 10m beyond my starting point on the return run.

Running warm up/down 40:00 [3]

Down to the river and back up again after the pace run. Cracking day, but very cold down there.

Stretching 15:00 [1]
