Orienteering race 1:05:00 [5]

SOL at Scolty - short brown. Good run, pretty clean and working hard. Got a bit confused going into no 2 and lost ~30s, slight hesitation at 4 ~15s. Otherwise I think I spiked everything.

Geallaig Hill - Prominent peak no 6. Was feeling rubbish first thing in the morning, but settled into a steady pace on the hill and managed to run all the way to the top easily enough (33'). Lovely morning - warm but not stifling. Ran relaxed back down the hill without pushing it at all. Nice run and starting to feel more like a runner again.

...control hanging in Dess for the Inter-Area relays. Did it in little loops so that I could get a decent run in at the same time. Out for 80' total.

Orienteering 25:00 [5]

Forest sprint at Shooting Greens. Excellent training session - thanks olsoran. Needed quick thinking and foreward planning.A few little wobbles that could be ironed out - didn't see no 1 and ran all the way round the knoll to find it. Turned the wrong way going into 5, then had to double back. Slightly off line into 7 and 9. Got onto wrong spur / open at 13 and almost overshot 14. Sounds a lot but think it was probably ~1' total. Pity a few more folk didn't turn up - why not? Friday night? something different = scary? Scottish schools earlier in the day?

Had a great stress removed this evening on discovering that the deadline for a paper has been moved from the end of June to mid Aug - phew.
