Orienteering 25:00 [3]

Picked up a few controls at Bogendreip after junior training. Still a lot of snow in the upper forest and some very cold feet (surprised there weren't more winges). Glad we didn't lose anyone, but I'd love to know what some of the youngsters were up to - must revisit that GPS watches idea.
Had planned to do my own training after, but didn't fancy it when it got to the time.

Orienteering 1:10:00 [3]

Did the first half of the SEDS training at Shooting Greens, then a line course at the bottom. First section wasn't very good, but got better on the second bit. Still some snow at the top and followed melted footsteps from 2 weeks ago to the first control. Run back up the hill at the end felt good with a tail wind.

Note

Yay - finally managed to get out in the garden and start tidying up.

D/h Skiing 1:30:00 [3]

First downhill skiing in about 10 years, but as everyone is raving about it, thought I'd better check Glenshee out while the snow's still there. Took a few runs to remember what you're supposed to do - seemed very strange not to be able to lift your heels. Quite enjoyed myself but it didn't give me quite the buzz it used to do. Not sure if we've just had too much snow this winter or I've irreversibly been converted to x-c. Maybe a bit of both. Went back to the car for lunch and was about to set out again when I realised the outer plastic on both my boots had completely split, so decided to call it a day. Since I now don't have any functional equipment I guess it's likely to be another 10 years before I go back.

Running 56:00 [3]

Had just enough time to squeeze in a run up Hill of Fare on the way back to pick up E. Feeling pretty drained, but settled into a steady rythym up the hill. Out in the open there was snow on the track which was harder going and slowed me down. Then when I got up to the level section in the bowl it turned into a knee deep wade with a softened crust. Carried on like this all the way to the top, with the result that I was 41' instead of the usual sub 30'. Trickier descent than usual too.
Late for school - tut, tut.
Some very strange looks at my bare, muddy and hacked legs from the other mums too ;-]

Running 42:00 [3]

Another cracking day and a really pleasant run round the smaller paths in Kingshill. Feeling pretty good again - more like a runner.

Running intervals 18:00 [5]

Really short of time, so only managed to squeeze in a shortened interval set. Did 6 x 2' + 1' on tracks / grass at H'head and felt pretty good. Was way over-dressed in tights and helly - spring must be coming ;-}}

Running warm up/down 22:00 [3]

Running 25:00 [2]

Went for an easy run round Hill of Banchory before pilates. Still feeling stiff from Sat, but better by end. Jacked the pace up for the last 5 mins or so after getting a bit lost and realising I was going to be late.

Pilates 1:00:00 [1]

Good session.
