Running 30:00 [2]

Feeling really stiff and tired. Went along to Crathes to escape from the snow and did a lap of the woods. Paths still icy in places. Felt a bit better by the end.

Orienteering race 17:00 [5]

Scottish sprint champs at Edinburgh Uni. Ran pretty cleanly & think I got most of the routes right. 6th and pretty happy with that.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Warm up before sprint and warm down after.
8 PM

Orienteering race 1:05:00 [5]

British Night Champs Pentlands
Steep and very slippy. Felt pretty tired and sluggish up the hills. O wasn't very inspiring. Missed no 10 in the green and faffed with gorse, but otherwise just slow.
Enjoyed the sprint race much more.

Warm up before the night race. Eaten too much tea. Blergh!

X-country skiing 1:20:00 [3]

Parked at the snow block on the Gairnshiel to Crathie road at the start of the Loch Builaig track and headed up the road. Softish crust, so wasn't getting great glide, but settled into a pleasant rythym. Enjoyed the company of hundreds of mountain hare and the knowledge that nobody else had been here in the last week. Climbed to the top of the road and then dropped down towards Crathie into the trees before turning round and going back the same way. Getting a bit better glide on the return and starting to enjoy the descent when I saw snow billowing into the air ahead... My personal pistie beastie had dug through several feet of snow leaving me a few nicely compacted inches, a bit bumpy in places but perfect for a speedier descent. Shame it'll be gone by now.

Spring must be coming as Cyril and Cedric are back in the garden looking for food...

Short run round Banchory to warm up for circuits

Circuits 50:00 [3]

Maroc circuits. Fun session. Felt tired before the start so didn't attack too hard. Good to see adults out-numbered by juniors 8:11

Running intervals 30:00 [5]

10 x 2' + 1' with Simon and Warren in Aboyne on the roads. Felt pretty good and seemed to pass quite quickly. Nice to to have to jog forward a vast amount between each rep. Still a fair bit of ice, but better training than Dave et al slogging up the Fungle I reckon.

Running 40:00 [3]

Usual warm-up and full lap of Rhunahaven Rd after the reps.
