Orienteering race 1:15:00 [5]

SOL at Dalnamein. Ran short brown (W21L). Pretty clean run, but never felt like I was really racing. Tough going over the tussocky stuff. Happy that I managed to get my head round this with an early start and tired legs.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Decent warm-up and jogged part of the route back from the finish.

Orienteering race 39:00 [5]

11-person relay at Faskally. Ran the leg 2 green course for Maroc. A small wobble into no 15 (all agreed there's something distorted on the map here), but otherwise clean. Legs felt dire on the hills. Solid team result to finish 5th club.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [2]

Not really enough, but too much going on and people bombarding me with difficult questions (like who am I handing over to....).

Running 2:40:00 [3]

First chance for a long Friday morning hill run with J since E started school. Looked like another great morning so headed off up Lochnagar. Felt really crap at the start - too early, last night's curry still churning around and body generally not working very well. Tried to ignore all that and settle for a slow but steady run. Managed to run all of the first climb (just) and about half way towards the ladder before dropping to a walk. Reached the top in 89' - around 10' down on a good pace for me. Felt damn cold up there despite the sun, with a brisk chilly wind. Returned by the Glas Allt. Steady pace and finally with a tail wind back along the loch side. Great to be out running in the hills again and I hope we can make runs like these a bit more regular over the next few months.
This weekend's going to be tough now ;-{

Road cycling 38:00 [3]

Cycled with E down to school and home, then picked him up again in the afternoon. Hard work back up the hill. What a day - nippy on the fingers first thing, but stopped and had an ice-cream with E on the way home.

Note

Pleasant 2 hour walk this morning round the 2 bridges at Glen Tanar on the work away-day.

Running intervals 20:00 [5]

Still feeling tired but really need to do some speed work, so forced myself to try some minute reps. Stopped off at Kingshill on the way home and did 10 x 1' + 1' on a flat section of track. Gradually got into the session and was getting much better distances by the end. 10 was enough though.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Out and back from the intervals

Running 57:00 [3]

Glen Tanar with DR. Feeling way too tired for intervals so ran steady (brisk) round the 2 bridges with David, Derek and Evelyn. Wanted to go a bit further so turned L over the hill on the way back and returned by the mill pond. Feeling better by the end than at the start.

Road cycling 46:00 [3]

From home. Aboyne, Birse, Pottie, Kinker and back. Nice ride but legs felt tired and ITB tight.
Roll on Deeside Way - it's really tedious lugging the bike up and down through the field to the road.

Pilates 1:00:00 [1]

Bands and balls. Lots of fun!
