Orienteering race 35:00 [5]

BOC relays in the New Forest. Running W Premier with Kirsty (1st leg) and Hazel (3rd leg). Feeling very tired and stiff before the start. Kirsty came back in a good time, so set out to try and hold our position. Messed up no 1 - confused by the mapping of the rodhies and not picking up enough detail. After that ran pretty clean and caught / passed a couple of people towards the end with a good route choice (although I thought initially that they'd caught me up). Surprised to find that we were in 3rd by the end of the leg. Hazel ran well too, to give us Maroc's best ever BOC result of 4th in the W Premier ;-}
Ankle was a bit sore but held up OK.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2]

Again didn't feel like enough warm-up.

Stretching 15:00 [1]

Didn't feel too bad

Orienteering race 58:47 [5]

BOC W40L individual in the New Forest. Knew that preparation had gone well but worried that it might be too fast and that I might still be heavy legged from last week. Set off carefully and tried to avoid the worst of the marshes (having seen what Paddy looked and smelt like after falling in!). Still managed to fall in a bog after no 2. Small wobble at 5, then major headless chicken at 7, which cost me ~ 3 minutes. Pretty sure I'd blown the race but managed to settle down again and ran the rest pretty clean. Very pleased and relieved to discover that I had won ;-} Don't often break 7 min/km. Left ankle very sore by the end. Bought some peas and did lots of icing before the relays.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2]

Didn't feel like enough warm-up. Very nervous, so focussed on chilling out before the start.

Stretching 10:00 [1]

Tired, but nothing specifically sore (apart from my ankle).

Orienteering race 50:00 [3]

Last night of the DNC at Mulloch. I never really got into this and was going through the motions (not very well) most of the way round. First time I've run at Mulloch - mostly pleasant underfoot, but not very exciting and the map's not great. Still it was worth it for the curry afterwards.
