Thames Valley XC - Datchet (Eton)
LOVE cross country!! So much fun :-) Started in view of Windsor castle & then went out into the fields and endless thick mud. Slipping everywhere but worked through the field & tucked in with a group of Reading Roadrunner men. With about 400m to go I spotted 2 Sandhurst ladies 50m ahead & was having none of it, so killed myself on a sprint finish to beat them! Whoo. V happy to be 3rd RRR lady and count for the team still, even with a stronger ladies team this year.

Mychett - Fab area and great course planning.
Can't be doing with racing every single weekend over winter and just reinforcing bad habits, so took today easy & instead tried to work on a few techniques & attempt to figure out what's working/not working for me. Feel like I took a lot from it, especially the legs where it went wrong. Seems to be some common reasons for this, so got my goals for things to work on now :-)
Also followed Sarah round the last loop and it was amazing to see the speed at which she just went straight through the terrain like she was on a track. & where I'm forever stopping to work out where to go, she never even slowed down at the controls. Got a lot of work to do to ever be that good!!

Note
(rest day)

Just feeling really tired from last nights work event in London & getting about 4 hours sleep & having a hangover at work. Legs feeling fresh though so no worries there. :)

Running warm up/down 22:00 [1] 3.3 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 20 (Pink)

laps and drills and such

Running 30:00 [3] 6.3 km (4:46 / km)

Pyramid session - 1600m (3min) 1200m (2min) 1000m (1min) 800m (30sec) 400m (1 lap)
Only supposed to be at HM pace, but went faster (4min/km) as I don't feel it's too beneficial to come all the way to track for an easy session.

Running 5:30 [5] 1.3 km (4:14 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 20 (Pink)

4 x 200m flat out to "work on our sprint finishes", but mostly just because Simon likes to be mean when all the other groups are stretching and going home!
