Running 1:18:00 [2] 14.5 km (5:23 / km) +60m 5:16 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 20 (Pink)

Slow run exploring north of Caversham round some really nice bridleways and pretty tree lined streets. Had intended 90mins but some aches going on in my calves and feet so called it a day a bit early. Can't believe how warm it still is.

Orienteering race 54:00 [4] 10.4 km (5:12 / km) +75m 5:01 / km

Really fun course :-) Found it very tricky to pick the best routes & really need to work on a lot of things, but just managed to hold on for the win.

Bad start again - got really disorientated at the start kite. Settled into it & then of course I've not been clumsy in a while so I tripped and broke my garmin :-( RIP - it's served me well this last 6 years, still the best prize I ever won (thank you cliffhanger ultrasprint 08). Also misread 7 and got stuck in the castle bit on the wrong side of a big wall, really need to read my descriptions properly. Some good points though - 12 was the best control in an underground car park & I nailed it, & I think I picked good routes near the end to 20 and 21.

Hand now swollen to about double its original size. Failing at life.

Orienteering warm up/down 10:00 [1] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)

Note

Mucho walking this afternoon. Hand very bruised and sore.

Spin 50:00 [2]

Feeling much more enthusiastic again - good spin class, even had some wheatus on the playlist!

shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 20 (Pink)

Running hills 34:00 [3] 5.1 km (6:40 / km) +250m 5:21 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 20 (Pink)

3 x 10min kenyan hills. A bit slower than usual, but got it done & felt better on the last one.

Running warm up/down 12:43 [1] 2.07 km (6:09 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 20 (Pink)

Running warm up/down 17:00 [1] 2.5 km (6:48 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 20 (Pink)

Winter track begins.... drizzled the whole time as a suitable reintroduction

Running intervals 37:30 [3] 7.75 km (4:50 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 20 (Pink)

6 x 800m with lap recovery jog. Aim from these sessions to run at tempo pace, so I'm pushing (70-80%) but can recover quickly at the end. Hopefully can build some speed endurance this way.

Running race 1:30 [4] 0.6 km (2:30 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 20 (Pink)

Halloween relay - teams of 3, each running 3 lots of 200m, with spooky creatures as the baton :P we came 2nd and won doughnuts. loving life.

Stretching 15:00 [0]

S&C (pilates) 1:00:00 [1]

A bit bruised still from yesterday so just taking things easy today until it settles. Really hard pilates session though, loads of things I couldn't do. I hate being rubbish!!

Note
(rest day)

Sports massage - her first word being 'wow' in disbelief at how tight my hamstrings are! SO MUCH PAIN! so happy that someone finally got it though, she's the first person I've ever seen who really understood all my aches and could see how they connect with each other & literally find every painful spot without me having to point it out. Genuinely relieved!
Going to make seeing her a regular thing now - working on strength, massage & stretching. I think this will make a big difference in stopping my body getting injured so often. :-)
