BOC 2011 at Wharncliffe... Started strongly (to 1!), but then had misses at 2 (25 secs?), 3 (60 secs) and then, worst of all, 4 (2 mins). Got caught by Charlie A on way to 6 and we then ran together for much of the course, trading occasional misses, before finally running out of steam on the way to 21. Made a bit of a hash of 22 (ended up on the spur by the stream) and had to go back, losing another 70-80 seconds. Never felt fully at ease n struggled with chest throughout. I was also too hesitant early on, but I havent been in a forest with a map since early March, so what do you expect? Finished 7th and that was probably flattering. O well... time to put in some training.

At least I managed to get out for a simple trot after a manic day of teaching, interviewing and reading countless emails from the lunatics of the world who felt pressed to share their valuable and thoughtful views on a boy wearing a skirt. It's mad, mad, mad world!

Back from College - at a good pace n felt much better. Legs stiffened on the train - but not too bad.

Nice n easy trot on the treadmill - legs n hammies in particular were feeling very stiff n sore.
