Off-road running warm up/down 20:00 [2] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
slept:5.0 shoes: Integrator 3

Before and after the Southern Champs; had woken fairly early (4sh) but managed to remain in bed til 5.45 and also napped on way down in car (and much longer on the return!).

Orienteering race 1:04:09 [5] 10.3 km (6:14 / km) +390m 5:14 / km
shoes: Integrator 3

Kinda pleased, especially given injury and on-going fatigue... however, nearly 6 mins adrift of Alan V is not good; started reasonably well (slight miss to 1), but felt tired fairly on (to 4). Made a bit of a mess in the clearing in 6 (30 secs?) and then fairly accurate throughout. Seemed to get buoyed by passing Dave Peel at 11. Took the safe off-line to right route on the long leg, but thought twice about the western path-bash... could have been a min or two quicker?? Ended strongly - and then made a minute error at final control when followed the herds instead of concentrating and ended up in the field, two gates down from the control. Idiot!! Didnt make much difference overall, but an error i could have done without and 63 would have felt much better than 64. Stomach was ok at outset but felt it towards the end and certainly on my warm-down.

Off-road running 31:20 [2] 4.0 mi (7:50 / mi)
slept:6.5

Managed to get in spite of feeling rubbish still (and was in bed before midnight, unlike my colleagues!).... down to the road and into a lovely private woodland which would be great for a middle race!

Note
slept:7.0 (rest day)

Had intended running from the hotel, but felt awful throughout the pm n ended up sleeping for an hour (again!)... must be the Rutland climate and environment that enduces such indolence!

Running 30:20 [2] 4.0 mi (7:35 / mi)
slept:7.0 (injured) shoes: Asics Kayano 2

Really struggled this morning; stomach was very sore n uncomfortable. A slowish shuffle around town.
4 PM

Running 38:00 [3] 5.5 mi (6:55 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Asics Kayano 2

Although sore again, found that taking deep breaths helped ease the pain. Need to get this sorted... Anyway, ran back to station n felt ok.

Orienteering 25:20 [3] 4.0 km (6:20 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 2

O training around city and combined it with a visit to my favourite store which conveniently sits on the map... Fopp-O?!? Focused on reading ISOM and judging distance etc... only a month until the British Sprints.
