10 AM

Off-road running warm up/down 8:00 [2] 0.8 mi (10:00 / mi)
slept:8.0 shoes: Integrator

Jog to the start... nearly missed it! Forest on the way looked very inviting.... that was cruel to us!

Orienteering race 1:58:57 [5] *** 15.3 km (7:46 / km) +395m 6:53 / km
spiked:30/34c shoes: Intergrator 2

National Event at Belvoir Castle. Really felt the effects of the stomach problems over the weekend and suffered from the outset - felt drained and very tired as though I had had a virus or something like that. Never got into flow and decent running which was a shame as I could and would have run well today on the evidence of Friday's hard run (probably had the potential to run close to 100mins?). Made just a few slight slips but nothing major and mostly just grumbled my way round. Had considered retiring at the spectator but pride and obstinacy kept me going even though I was never able to push it with my stomach. Got caught on way to 9 by Richard G but he was on the other butterfly and I caught Nev B at the end, but managed to lose time at the last which was an interesting control in the green. Even though it was tough and unpleasant in parts, I enjoyed the variety of the terrain and legs.

Running 35:00 [2] 4.5 mi (7:47 / mi)
slept:6.5 shoes: Asics Kayano

Ran very easy around town but guts still felt bad... last night was particularly dodgy and was in bed asleep by 10. Legs tired but taking it easy today should ensure ok for tomorrow... I hope!

Off-road running warm up/down 50:00 [3] 7.0 mi (7:09 / mi)
slept:5.5

Preparing the field for the Comic Relief run, long steady warm up and 2 miles warm down after the run.
1 PM

Off-road running tempo 22:20 [5] 4.0 mi (5:35 / mi)

Wow! Pulled through first mile by strong n fast Year 10 before pushing on in 2-3 miles... did a 1.24 (400m) round the track at the start of the 3rd mile and clocked by a teacher doing 5.30s so course was pretty accurate. Pleased to have run that strong and fast... but stomach suffered afterwards.
