Not much of a rest day - up to Cambridge, walked about 3km and then up to Huntingdon to drop Sarah off. Stuck in traffic (twice!) on the return leg down the M11 - a reminder of what's not to miss about the South!

Well... i loved the marathon experience on Sunday and after 48hrs my legs dont feel too bad. So entered Liverpool (24 Oct) and Garstang 1/2 (5 Sept) with plan vaguely in place.

Easy walk down to the Rec and Lune for a lovely swim. Woke stiff and sore, but moving helped and even did a 2hr meeting at standing desk. Swim was amazing and helped legs massively.... Bobby swimming brilliantly too!

Samarathon... and debut run over the distance too. Woke at 3.10am and had tea, sweetened black coffee and 2 Stoats before getting out at 4.50am. Took cycle tracks to Morecambe and seafront, before getting water from Morrison's. Back on cycleway to home for another water and gel before O&B to end of Caton path then finished down along Millenium and finished up at home.

Pleased with effort and felt relaxed for much of it. Last 5km or so were tough, but given my overall limited prep, it was pleasing indeed.

Like many in England this morning, I woke with a thick head and would have slept even later if Bobby hadnt barked at something outside the van at 7.50. Managed to get out with both of them for a joggy trot around the longer LL. Sweated out the booze and enjoyed it.
