Note
(rest day)

Woke naturally (7.50) and decided to treat self to well-deserved restie.

Friday Jan 30, 2015 #

6 PM

Treadmill Running 23:01 [3] 3.0 mi (7:40 / mi)
slept:6.5 shoes: Asics GT1000

Stayed late at school for work so popped over to the gym for this easy run...

Thursday Jan 29, 2015 #

6 AM

Running 1:00:40 [3] 8.0 mi (7:35 / mi)
slept:7.3 shoes: Asics GT1000

To IVC - felt pretty pooped and groin was very sore & stiff.

4 PM

Running 1:04:30 [3] 9.0 mi (7:10 / mi)
slept:7.4 shoes: Asics GT1000

Tuesday Jan 27, 2015 #

Note
slept:4.1 (rest day)

Day 2 of Manic Week... bed at 2.15 (Slipknot gig) and then awake by 6.30. Worked 14 hours solidly with interviews and Governors so no time to train.

Monday Jan 26, 2015 #

Note
slept:7.0 (rest day)

Hardly a rest day - busy day at work and out to see Slipknot & Korn in the evening...

Sunday Jan 25, 2015 #

10 AM

Running 1:24:15 [3] 11.0 mi (7:40 / mi)
slept:6.7 shoes: Asics GT2170 Orange

The usual course - with a detour into Waitrose and coming back past Tesco which possibly makes it slightly longer. Anyway, struggled at first with groin but it eased out and managed today it easily enough. I love this course, especially once out of Newmarket, in particular the descent down Duchess Drive.

Saturday Jan 24, 2015 #

8 AM

Running warm up/down 34:30 [2] 3.9 mi (8:51 / mi)
slept:6.2 shoes: Asics GT1000

Woke a bit later than expected so went to Bedford instead. Not a day for a tarmac Parkrun with lots of black ice... Felt tired and leg stiff. Most of running before the run (late start at 9.20).
9 AM

Running race 18:17 [5] 5.0 km (3:39 / km)
shoes: Brooks ST 5 Racers

Bedford Parkrun - 1st but not entirely satisfied with the run/time. Was doubtful last night due to stiffness in muscles. The cold didn't help and I never felt fully relaxed and had to slow down in a number of places due to black ice. Still - that's 4 wins on the trot. Sure to be broken next Saturday at Milton.

Friday Jan 23, 2015 #

6 AM

Running 32:10 [3] 4.0 mi (8:03 / mi)
slept:6.0 shoes: Asics GT1000

From the Thistle around the centre, then west, picked up seafront and back. Nice once on the front. Count the homeless person in doorway around the centre.

Thursday Jan 22, 2015 #

5 AM

Running 1:00:00 [3] 8.0 mi (7:30 / mi)
slept:5.0 shoes: Asics GT1000

To work and felt drained.

Wednesday Jan 21, 2015 #

7 AM

Running 28:00 [3] 4.0 mi (7:00 / mi)

Probably slightly under-distance to compensate for yesterday's excess. Around the village. Not so cold (3c).
5 PM

Running 1:05:15 [3] 9.0 mi (7:15 / mi)
shoes: Asics GT1000

Back home. Pooped.

Tuesday Jan 20, 2015 #

Sunday Jan 18, 2015 #

11 AM

Running 1:20:35 [3] 11.0 mi (7:20 / mi)
slept:6.5 shoes: Asics GT2170 Orange

Same run as last week but 1.5 mins quicker... Although thighs were a little heavy, felt very relaxed and comfortable. A great jaunt, helped by feeling more settled, running well and listening to Amorphis.

Saturday Jan 17, 2015 #

8 AM

Off-road running warm up/down 33:00 [2] 3.9 mi (8:28 / mi)
slept:7.5 shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 265

A decent warm up and good warm down - bitterly cold.
9 AM

Off-road running race 18:16 [5] 5.0 km (3:39 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 265

Bury St E Parkrun - 1st and 26 secs quicker than 3 weeks ago. Ground was frozen and rutted in parts. A lad took things up and I did think he might shift, but he didn't like the ruts and I pulled past him after 800 metres. 8'55 at end of Lap 1 and had 5 secs on him. Pushed on 2nd lap for a comfortable and pleasing win. Getting there.

Running 57:05 [3] 8.0 mi (7:08 / mi)

Back from IVC - had thought about a session, but dead legs and sniffles mean I'm feeling flat. Ran steady. Blowy out.

Lovely lunchtime run from Exning, through Newmarket and up Wooditton Rd, left towards Cheveley, down Duchess Drive back into town and up the A142 before turning left at Asda to come back on myself. Used MapMyRun and was exactly 11 miles.

Saturday Jan 10, 2015 #

8 AM

Running warm up/down 33:00 [2] 4.0 mi (8:15 / mi)

shoes: Brooks ST 5 Racers

Buckingham Parkrun - 1st... Took control from the outset. Generally pleased but never felt totally at ease and struggled to maintain necessary pace. Course was a little twisty and damp underfoot which was slippy with leaf/mud, also battered in last 1K into the wind.
