recovery run in my new shoes. felt awful and fatigued, far too much effort just to keep running.
shoes felt good though, slightly firmer than my old ones

disappointed with my performance, started off way too cautiously and was still losing a lot of time in the control circles and lost a lot of time at the bingo controls. got caught by rob early on and the i saw nick barrable go through 9 as i messed it up. decided to sort myself out at this point as i was throwing away all my team's hard work and positions. worked really hard on the next leg as it was a long leg to catch the two in front and eventually caught rob as he was having a piss. still felt really slow and sluggish though and did for the rest of the race. pretty much went around the rest of the course with him and came through spectator 2.5 mins down on nick but i was really hurting at this point. rob was stronger after this and got a 20m lead going into the urban section but i managed to get a better route to one of the controls and took the lead and hung on from then. only lost a further half minute to knick after the spectator.

really annoyed as i probably should have won given the situation the team gave to me but i just messed it up in the first 9 controls. im also worried about not being able to orienteer like i did before i got ill, it just doesnt seem as natural and i dunno if i will ever get that form back.

was going to go for a long run toward manchester along the canal but there was nothing in the legs and was quite hungry so turned round and got some food

after i had eaten i then went the other way along the canal to make up the time.

legs still feeling quite sluggish so was quite slow
