Maybe not so much a sprint as a squelch? Pretty slick around most of the school bushland areas and wet feet on creek crossings were guaranteed, therefore I enjoyed this course even though I missed a control (whoopsie, in a straight line it was a 15m leg and I never even saw control 21 on the map) and definitely got my $10 worth. Not sure about a couple of my route choices, especially on 3 where I saw a solid black line blocking access to running along the top level of a verandah, but upon closer inspection it's marked as a through route. Also one of the controls in the bushland strip below the oval was hidden behind a bush instead of being on the edge of the green and so I overshot it, although don't think I was alone there.
Originally I'd been going to miss the whole event because it clashed with my massage appointment but when the therapist cancelled I decided I could make it up to Mt Barker before going down to Goolwa with Geoff for the afternoon to catch up with a friend - we can recommend the Kuti Shack for lunch at Goolwa Beach, especially if you like pipis (AKA cockles).

Turns out that the loop along the bike path under the freeway to Littlehampton and then back via the Mt Barker exit interchange to Cornerstone College (on unhappy knees which had kept me awake in the night and were sad about no massage today) takes 17 min whether run anticlockwise or clockwise.
