Orienteering 1:18:00 [2] *** 4.7 km (16:36 / km)

Test-run of green course for EMPO club champs this Sunday (including adding streamers where I didn't hang them before).

Orienteering race (Boulder Dash Day 2 Green) 1:24:03 [5] **** 5.07 km (16:35 / km) +140m 14:34 / km
spiked:8/12c shoes: Jala Jukola Spider 6 #2

Starting just ahead of Barb D. (one minute) kept me moving (to try to shake her off). Bobbled #2 (where Barb caught up) and #5. Lost Barb on the way to #7. About 4 or so minutes of error, but I was still pretty pleased with my time. Tracy O. recovered enough to beat me by 2 minutes overall (note my 4 minutes +/- of error), but I ended up 2nd. Nice.

Event: Boulder Dash

Orienteering race (Boulder Dash Day 1 Green) 1:34:01 [4] **** 4.77 km (19:43 / km) +255m 15:33 / km
spiked:11/13c shoes: Jala Jukola Spider 6 (old)

RAIN. So I went even slower than usual and did more map simplification (because I had trouble seeing it with all the rain). No major errors. Not only that, but the 3 women in my age group that I thought could beat me all had trouble with one or more controls & I ended up 1st for the day! Whoa--pressure's on!

Walking 29:15 [4] 2.0 mi (14:37 / mi)

HR 120 when I finished--not bad for walking. I was trying to push it today even though I was JUST walking. Now I'm feeling it in my legs/hips. (That's what ibuprofen is for, right?)
