Run 1:16:00 [3] 10.72 km (7:05 / km) +212m 6:27 / km

Across the golf course then over the Ebbw with Alice. Slightly longer run than we intended as the footpath back along the river was closed due to what looked like quite extensive works to one of the weirs.

Afternoon tea at the Celtic Manor afterwards courtesy of some of the Welsh Junior parents which was very nice.

Orienteering race 54:57 [3] 8.0 km (6:52 / km) +80m 6:32 / km

MLS at Yoxter. Blue course . Pretty clean with only a couple of slight errors./ hesitations. Compeed stayed on the blistered toe Ok and legs seem to have recovered from OMM - probably should have done the Brown. But very much enjoyed what I did. Course planning as varied and fun as it could possibly have been on such an open area. And certainly not without its opportinuties for losing time.

Good to catch up with Keith Agmen, who is going to need a bigger car soon.

And a bigger surprise - Ian Watson - who nearly 40 years ago was the guy responsible for introducing Alice and I to MDC. He was still proudly wearing an ancient faded "front loading" O top over one of the original MDC tops - "the only one which would fit"......

Strategy not as good today, and annoyingly made a 7 minute parallel error in the mist on Greyfriars. Had some company from Ali Masson and partner on that - and it looks like it perhaps cost then the Elite title.

Still came back with a fair number of OMM vouchers - 1st Mixed, 2nd Vets and Alice's 30th OMM completion..... and a pretty sore and blistered big toe for me.
