BUCS Relay - Danefield

Last time I was here it was JIRCS relay and I bashed my knee open and got an ambulance to hospital. Luckily the curse has lifted.

Ran Men's relay in an n/c team with Helen and Stuart Hanstock. I ran first leg and had a surprisingly good run. Feeling very tired after yesterday's race and very little sleep due to Alice's house having a noisy party. Was basically in last place for the first few controls and walked up the hills. Somehow I moved through the field gradually by getting the nav right and came in 5th!!! Stuart had a decent run but unfortunately Helen crunched her ankle on the way to no.1 and retired.

Running 44:00 [3] 6.8 km (6:28 / km)
shoes: Adidas Adios Boost

With Matt along the canal to the Middlewood way at AZ for a session.

Back afterwards. Slowly.

Running tempo 26:00 [4] 5.64 km (4:37 / km)
shoes: Adidas Adios Boost

Kim's threshold session phase 3: 4x 5mins, 2mins active recovery.

Laps:
1 - 1.24km, 4:02/km, 168bpm
2 - 1.25km, 4:00/km, 170bpm
3 - 1.22km, 4:07/km, 169bpm
4 - 1.25km, 4:00/km, 167bpm

Pleased with how it went and got the heart rate zone (85% 170bpm) pretty much spot on. Now I've done a controlled session it will be good to see how I improve.
