Event: Hickory Run

Note

OK, so, there is a certain (read: a great amount) of angst involved with doing results for an A-meet, be it pin punch or electronic timing. Did I get it right? Was it me screwing up, or was it the controls malfunctioning? Do I know "jack"?

Lots of self-doubt.

And, then, most often, it is not me but them...

Two cases today (apologies, if I offend either of the unnamed subjects):

1. Person downloads (perhaps the 100th person for the day, no issues mentioned up to this point). States their watch says they were 8 minutes faster then what is printed on their results sheet. I look at their split times for first and last split, and nothing seems out of whack. Perhaps they accidentally stopped their watch at some point?! They are very doubtful, because how could that be?!

2. Person downloads. Time is x minutes faster then he could possibly be based on how his fitness level and how his peers finished. They are very doubtful, because how could that be?! Seriously, you did good, take it and run!!

Give me #2 any day. :)
